In 2 Thessalonians, Paul starts off his letter by encouraging Christian community. We are going to need each other. We need to love and be loved. We need to help one another grow in faith as we learn to trust God's character. 2 Thessalonians 1:1-12
All Things New
Revelation 21:5 says, “Behold, I make all things new.” This is an incredible statement by our God that can change the very way we live if we “behold” what He is saying. He is the creator of the world and He can take you and make a completely new creation. This changes everything and can change the way we live in 2019.
God With Us
Living to Minister
As Pastor David ends his teaching on 1 Thessalonians, Chapter 5 encourages us to always be joyful in all things! Sometimes, if we do not fear, we find a deeper walk with our Lord Jesus in the “valleys” of life. We, as His Body need to constantly encourage one another, thanking God for ALL THINGS.
Living Ready
He Is Good
God is Good and that should lead to us being a thankful people. Our Student Pastor, Conner Lewis, gave four reason why we should be a thankful people and they all stem from the fact that we serve a God who is good by nature. Listen in as he teaches from Psalm 107.
The Sower
God’s Word teaches us that faith comes by hearing, so it is very important that we are listening to the seeds that God is sowing in our hearts. Jesus used the parable of the Sower to teach His disciples about the importance of being good soil that receives the seeds that are planted. Listen in as our Student Pastor, Conner Lewis, teaches from Mark 4.
Blessed Hope
Sanctification By Thanksgiving
Charles Swindoll said, “God doesn't work on our timetable. He has a plan that He will execute perfectly and for the highest, greatest good of all, and for His ultimate glory.” For us, the hard part is letting go and trusting this. The good news is, God is working to get us there, so in the mean time we just need to be thankful. Listen in as Pastor David teaches on this.
Abounding - Increasing Love
Live in love! Love is the brightest light for a broken world. The Lord told us to love one another, but the love needs to be genuine from the heart; ready to spill out to the saved and the unsaved. Listen in as Pastor David continues in 1 Thessalonians.
Appointed Afflictions
Francis Frangipane said, “The thankful heart sees the best part of every situation. It sees problems and weaknesses as opportunities, struggles as refining tools, and sinners as saints in progress.” Listen in as Pastor David expounds upon this quote and other insights from 1 Thessalonians chapter 3.
Approved By God
When a mechanic works on your car and returns it to you, he has to approve of the work that has been done. God wants us to know that because of Jesus, He now approves of the work that we are doing. Listen in a Pastor David takes us deeper into what it means to leave a life “approved by God.”
Great Need, Great God
Charles Spurgeon once said, “I have a great need for Christ, I have a great Christ for my need.” One way Christ meets our needs is that He has given us the great gift of His Holy Spirit to help us along the way. Listen in as Pastor David continues to teach from 1 Thessalonians.
Remembering Grace
Have you ever spent a little amount of time with someone, but you feel like you’ve known them forever? That is how Paul felt after getting to know the Thessalonians for just three weeks. In his opening words of them him remembers fondly how they love the Lord. Listen in as Pastor David starts our new series titled “Living In Light.”
Unoffered Prayers
FB Meyer said, ““The greatest tragedy of life is not unanswered prayer, buy unoffered prayer.” The Apostle Paul would agree. He speaks of “devoting yourselves to prayer” in chapter 4 of the book of Colossians. Listen in as Pastor David teaches on the importance of prayer.
In Word And Deed
One of the main themes of the book of Colossians is that we are to glorify Christ no matter what we are doing. At the end of chapter three, Paul goes into detail describing what this looks like in our marriages, our families, and even at work. Listen in as Pastor David teaches on these important truths.
Jesus - Our Life
You may have heard the saying "don't put all your eggs in one basket." Well, for Christians, this is bad advice. Jesus is everything to a believer. He is our strength. He is our refuge. He is our LIFE. In Colossians 4, Paul encourages us to put ALL of our trust in God, because He is trustworthy. Listen in as Pastor David teaches on this important truth.
The TLC of Mission
Personal evangelism is not easy. At times it can be awkward and we can feel like we are failing. It does't have to be that way. In Act 17, Paul shows us a great example of how to reach out to new people. Listen in as missionary Kristian Tjemsland teaches us the importance of travel, links, and community when working to spread the Gospel.
How To Say "Thanks" to God
God has been so good to Calvary Chapel for 38 years now. How can we possibly begin to thank Him for all that He has done? Pastor Sandy Adams from Calvary Chapel Stone Mountain shows us from God's Word what the proper response is to God's faithfulness to us. Listen in as he preaches from Psalm 116:12-14.
Encouraged Hearts
We need God's help. One way He helps us is by encouraging us through His bride, the Church. Through Jesus, we now have the Holy Spirit to guide us as we dive deep with one another in community. If a church is going to be healthy, it's going to take a group of people looking to God to help them see one another as God sees them. Listen in as Pastor David teaches from Colossians 2.
