FOR CHILDREN

One of the foundational philosophies of the children’s ministry at Calvary Chapel Greenwood is this: “It’s easier to build children than it is to repair adults.” Our desire is to impart to our children biblical truth in a way that is fresh and relevant, and to model for them what it means to walk in dynamic, intimate fellowship with Jesus Christ.

We believe that parents are the primary source of children’s ministry and they have ultimate authority over how their kids are ministered to. Some parents choose to keep their kids with them during the whole service, but others will chose to send their children to Calvary Kids.

Our weekly children’s ministry schedule looks like this:
Sunday Mornings
Children ages 2 through Grade 5 are dismissed before the sermon portion of our Sunday-morning service for Children’s Church. The classes are divided into two age groups. K4 through 1st grade meet in the room adjacent to the nursery, while 2nd grade through 5th meet in the cafeteria before going to the elementary wing.
Wednesday Nights
Classes are held for children ages 3-Grade 5. Wednesday night classes are divided just like Sunday morning at 7PM. At 8:30 parents can pick up their kids in the church lobby where they will be waiting with their teachers.
Nursery
Our nursery is available every Sunday morning 15 minutes before the start of the service and is cared for by church members. Moms and dads are welcome to stay with their children or leave them to be watched during the service.

In addition to our regular weekly children’s ministry activities, kids also participate in drama/musical programs, service projects and a summer vacation Bible school.
