When God gives us the Holy Spirit, He does so with the expectation that will use it to be examples to those around us. By being bold, it allows believers to shine a light and to set an example in word, deed, love, faith, and purity.
The Goal: TRUTH
As we approach the coming of Jesus, there are certain things which we need to be guarded about. Paul warns the church that there will be many who claim to be something they are not. We have to be prepared and know the Truth of God’s Word, so that we will not fall for something other than the Gospel of Jesus.
The Goal: GODLINESS
Ultimately, our goal is to love, and the best way for us to do that is to follow Christ's example. This can be a difficult task, but with the right leadership in our churches and the right focus in our lives, God promises to transform us from the inside out.
The Goal: SUBMISSION
John 8:44 tells us that Satan loves to divide. We have all seen this especially in churches and marriages. A lot of this division comes when we don't submit to the authority God has placed over us. Listen in as Pastor David teaches one of the most difficult passages in the New Testament.
The Goal: PRAYER
The Goal: GRACE
Christians never graduate from the Gospel. God’s grace is need just as much today as it was the day you first came to know Christ. Listen in as our Student Pastor, Conner Lewis, gives five reasons why we should preach the Gospel to ourselves everyday.
The Goal: LOVE
We can gather from Paul’s first letter to Timothy, that Timothy was a timid man, but as a leader he was having to learn to step out of his timidity in order to lead and love. In our new series, The Goal, we will be looking at what is God’s goal for us in the church. In short, it is to love God, and love each other.
Anchored In Perseverance
The ins and outs of ministry can be very hard. Over time, we can become disgruntled and tired, but we are warned against this in 2 Thessalonians 3. Paul says, “don’t grow weary of doing good.” This is a call to perseverance, it’s a statement that encourages us to be so anchored in Christ that we will finish the work He has called us to do.
Anchored In Prayer
Prayer just may be the most important part of christian living. Oswald Chambers said, "Prayer does not fit us for the greater work; prayer is the greater work.” In 2 Thessalonians, Paul, asks for prayer for himself so that the Lord might spread the Gospel and bring glory to God, so I think it’s safe to say, we should do the same.
Anchored In Truth
If you look around the world at different churches and teachers, you’re bound to see that not all of them preach truth. This is nothing new. Paul had to address this many times in his epistles and he urged the church to “stand firm” in what they knew to be true about God’s character and to listen to the Spirit as He guided them to truth.
Anchored In Fellowship
In 2 Thessalonians, Paul starts off his letter by encouraging Christian community. We are going to need each other. We need to love and be loved. We need to help one another grow in faith as we learn to trust God's character. 2 Thessalonians 1:1-12
All Things New
Revelation 21:5 says, “Behold, I make all things new.” This is an incredible statement by our God that can change the very way we live if we “behold” what He is saying. He is the creator of the world and He can take you and make a completely new creation. This changes everything and can change the way we live in 2019.
God With Us
Living to Minister
As Pastor David ends his teaching on 1 Thessalonians, Chapter 5 encourages us to always be joyful in all things! Sometimes, if we do not fear, we find a deeper walk with our Lord Jesus in the “valleys” of life. We, as His Body need to constantly encourage one another, thanking God for ALL THINGS.
Living Ready
He Is Good
God is Good and that should lead to us being a thankful people. Our Student Pastor, Conner Lewis, gave four reason why we should be a thankful people and they all stem from the fact that we serve a God who is good by nature. Listen in as he teaches from Psalm 107.
The Sower
God’s Word teaches us that faith comes by hearing, so it is very important that we are listening to the seeds that God is sowing in our hearts. Jesus used the parable of the Sower to teach His disciples about the importance of being good soil that receives the seeds that are planted. Listen in as our Student Pastor, Conner Lewis, teaches from Mark 4.
Blessed Hope
Sanctification By Thanksgiving
Charles Swindoll said, “God doesn't work on our timetable. He has a plan that He will execute perfectly and for the highest, greatest good of all, and for His ultimate glory.” For us, the hard part is letting go and trusting this. The good news is, God is working to get us there, so in the mean time we just need to be thankful. Listen in as Pastor David teaches on this.
Abounding - Increasing Love
Live in love! Love is the brightest light for a broken world. The Lord told us to love one another, but the love needs to be genuine from the heart; ready to spill out to the saved and the unsaved. Listen in as Pastor David continues in 1 Thessalonians.
